Crown & Timber Closed Beta Terms

These terms govern participation in the Crown & Timber closed beta ("Beta").

By applying to participate in or joining the Beta, you agree to these terms.

1. Who can participate

The Beta is currently open to individuals aged 18 or over who are eligible to use the relevant testing platform and who meet any device or geographic requirements stated by us.

We may limit or refuse participation where necessary for testing capacity, security, technical reasons or compliance.

2. Purpose of the Beta

The Beta exists to test Crown & Timber before broader release.

The game may contain:

  • bugs;

  • crashes;

  • incomplete functionality;

  • temporary visual or audio issues;

  • balance changes;

  • disabled features;

  • test advertisements;

  • placeholder content;

  • changes between builds.

The Beta is not a final commercial release.

3. Access

Beta access is provided at our discretion.

We may:

  • invite or remove testers;

  • restrict access;

  • pause the Beta;

  • change the testing period;

  • release updates;

  • reset testing data;

  • withdraw a build.

No purchase is required to participate.

4. Tester responsibilities

You agree to:

  • use the Beta primarily for testing and personal evaluation;

  • provide truthful and constructive feedback;

  • report significant bugs or security issues responsibly;

  • not intentionally interfere with the game's operation;

  • not attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems;

  • not distribute private beta links where we have asked you not to;

  • not sell, rent or commercially exploit beta access.

5. Feedback

We may invite you to provide:

  • survey answers;

  • gameplay feedback;

  • bug reports;

  • suggestions;

  • screenshots or recordings.

You retain ownership of your original feedback.

By submitting feedback, you grant QuestCardsUK a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, adapt, analyse and incorporate that feedback into Crown & Timber and related products or services.

We will not represent your feedback as an endorsement by you without your permission.

6. Confidentiality

Unless we tell you otherwise, you may discuss your general experience of the Beta.

We may designate certain information as confidential where clearly identified as such.

Where we identify information as confidential, you agree not to disclose it publicly without our permission.

7. Intellectual property

Crown & Timber, including its name, game content, software, artwork, designs, characters, branding, audiovisual materials and underlying technology, remains the property of QuestCardsUK or its relevant licensors.

Beta access does not transfer ownership or grant you a licence other than the limited right to use the Beta for testing.

8. Availability

We do not guarantee that the Beta will:

  • always be available;

  • work on every device;

  • be free from bugs;

  • preserve progress;

  • retain saved data;

  • remain unchanged.

9. Purchases

No purchase is required to participate in this Beta.

Where purchase functionality is included for testing, it will only be made available through the appropriate platform testing mechanisms and may not represent a production transaction.

10. Advertising

The Beta may use test advertisements.

Live advertising may be disabled during some or all of the Beta.

Advertising availability may vary.

11. Leaderboards

Leaderboards may be unavailable or use test/local functionality during the Beta.

Scores or rankings may be reset.

12. Removal from the Beta

We may remove a participant if they:

  • breach these terms;

  • misuse the Beta;

  • interfere with testing;

  • attempt to compromise security;

  • distribute restricted access improperly;

  • behave abusively towards other participants or our team.

13. No guarantee of launch

Participation in the Beta does not guarantee that Crown & Timber will be released, when it will be released, or that any particular feature will remain in the game.

14. Privacy

Personal information is handled according to our Crown & Timber Privacy Policy.

15. Prize draw

Beta participants may be eligible to enter the separate Crown & Timber Beta Tester Prize Draw.

The prize draw is governed by its own Prize Draw Terms.

Participation is not conditional on leaving a positive review or rating.

16. Changes

We may amend these terms where reasonably necessary to administer or improve the Beta.

Material changes will be brought to participants' attention where appropriate.

17. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Subject to that, to the extent permitted by law, QuestCardsUK does not accept liability for losses arising solely from the temporary unavailability, loss of progress or technical defects of the Beta.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.

Crown & Timber Beta Tester Prize Draw

Promoter: QuestCardsUK, [FULL LEGAL NAME AND ADDRESS] ("Promoter").

1. The promotion

The Crown & Timber Beta Tester Prize Draw ("Prize Draw") gives eligible Crown & Timber beta testers an opportunity to win one £50 [SPECIFY GIFT CARD BRAND] gift card.

No purchase is required.

The Prize Draw is intended to be a free draw. All eligible entries are free to make.

Free draws can be run commercially without a gambling licence where they are structured so that they fall within the relevant legal exemption from a lottery.

2. Eligibility

The Prize Draw is open to:

  • residents of the United Kingdom;

  • aged 18 or over at the time of entry;

  • eligible Crown & Timber beta testers;

  • people who satisfy all entry conditions.

Employees of QuestCardsUK and their immediate family or household members are not eligible.

We may exclude anyone who we reasonably believe has attempted to manipulate the Prize Draw or breach these terms.

3. Promotion period

Entries received after the closing date will not be valid.

We recommend using a closing date at least several weeks after the beta begins rather than leaving this open-ended.

4. How to enter

To enter, you must:

  1. participate in the Crown & Timber Beta;

  2. complete the official Crown & Timber Beta Feedback Form during the promotion period;

  3. provide a valid email address;

  4. confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements;

  5. accept these Prize Draw Terms.

There is no entry fee.

One entry per person.

Duplicate entries may be disregarded.

We will not accept entries submitted on behalf of another person.

5. Honest feedback

The Prize Draw does not require a positive review, positive rating or favourable feedback.

You do not receive additional entries for:

  • giving a positive review;

  • giving a higher rating;

  • referring another person;

  • installing the game multiple times;

  • making purchases;

  • watching advertisements.

Google Play prohibits manipulation or incentivisation of ratings, reviews and install counts, so the prize must remain independent of those activities.

6. Prize

There is one prize:

£50 Amazon gift card.

The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash except where required by law or at the Promoter's discretion.

The Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable.

7. Winner selection

The winner will be selected at random from all valid eligible entries after the closing date.

The random selection will be carried out using a reasonable random-selection process.

The Promoter will keep a record of the selection process sufficient to demonstrate that the prize was awarded fairly.

8. Winner notification

The winner will be contacted using the email address supplied during entry.

The Promoter will make reasonable attempts to contact the winner.

The winner must respond within 14 days of the first notification.

If the winner does not respond within that period, is ineligible, or cannot validly receive the prize, the Promoter may select a replacement winner using the same random-selection method.

CAP guidance requires promoters to make adequate attempts to contact winners.

9. Winner verification and publication

The Promoter may need to make available information indicating that a valid prize award took place.

Normally, this may consist of the winner's surname and county, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

At or before entry, participants are informed that such information may be published or made available.

A winner may object to publication or request that the amount of information published be reduced.

If a winner objects, the Promoter will nevertheless retain the information required to demonstrate that the Prize Draw was properly administered and may provide relevant information to the Advertising Standards Authority if legitimately requested.

This reflects CAP Code requirements concerning the publication or availability of information showing that a valid award took place.

10. Prize delivery

The prize will normally be sent electronically to the winner's verified email address.

The Promoter aims to deliver the prize within 30 days of successful winner verification.

11. Data protection

Information supplied for the Prize Draw will be processed in accordance with the Crown & Timber Privacy Policy.

Information may be used to:

  • verify eligibility;

  • administer entries;

  • select and contact the winner;

  • deliver the prize;

  • maintain records demonstrating that the Prize Draw was properly conducted.

Prize-draw administration and associated record-keeping will be carried out using an appropriate lawful basis under applicable data protection law.

12. No purchase or positive review required

No purchase is necessary.

Entry is not conditional on:

  • purchasing Crown & Timber content;

  • purchasing advertising removal;

  • watching an advertisement;

  • giving a positive game review;

  • giving a positive Play Store rating;

  • recommending Crown & Timber;

  • posting positive comments.

13. TikTok, Google Play and other platforms

This Prize Draw is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with TikTok, Google, Google Play, Apple, Instagram, Facebook or any other platform, unless expressly stated otherwise.

Where the Prize Draw is promoted through a third-party platform, the platform's own terms may also apply to the use of that platform.

14. Changes and cancellation

The Promoter will not change these rules except where reasonably necessary due to circumstances outside its reasonable control, or where required to correct an error or comply with law.

If the Prize Draw has to be cancelled, suspended or materially altered, the Promoter will provide an appropriate notice.

Promotional rules should remain accessible throughout the promotion and significant conditions should be communicated clearly and upfront.

15. Fraud and abuse

The Promoter reserves the right to reject entries or disqualify participants where there are reasonable grounds to believe that:

  • an entry is fraudulent;

  • automated entry systems are being used;

  • multiple accounts are being used to circumvent the one-entry limit;

  • the participant has attempted to interfere with the Prize Draw;

  • the participant has breached these terms.

16. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to that, the Promoter is not responsible for:

  • network failures;

  • email delivery failures outside its reasonable control;

  • third-party platform outages;

  • circumstances preventing a participant from submitting an entry.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law.
